Fairs and festivals are an interesting feature of India and Uttaranchal is also exceptional. Uttaranchal is the land of sacred places and temples are spread across its territory, hence its festivals are very unique and completely different from rest of India. Some important fairs are Jauljibi and Thal fair and the Uttarayani fair. The former is celebrated in the month of November. In these fairs, local people show regional summersault with distinguish craftsmanship. Important festivals are Olgia, Khatarua and Makar Sakranti.
