Rajasthan is one of the hottest states of India. In Rajasthan, climatic conditions vary throughout the year. Rajasthan weather is usually hot and dry, yet one can see four distinct seasons in this state. These can be classified as Summers, Monsoons, Autumn (Post-monsoon) and Winters.

The climate of Rajasthan is generally hot and dry. However, the climate of Rajasthan can be divided into four seasons, namely summers, winters, monsoon and post-monsoon. The state of Rajasthan is located in North western part of India.

The Aravali Mountains stretching diagonally across the State from the South-West to North-East separate the desert and semi-desert areas to the West from the sub-humid areas in the East. The large part of Rajasthan is desert and it has little forest cover. The weather of Rajasthan is mostly hot and arid.

Broadly speaking, Rajasthan has a tropical desert climate. It is extremely cold from October to February while the scorching sun tortures the land from March to September. Due to scanty rainfall, women can be seen carrying water for miles to meet their daily needs during summers.

To the south of Rajasthan, River Luni and River Chambal River and its tributaries bless the people with their water and form an alluvial basin in Kota.

The Hottest Season. Temperature sore from 32 degrees to 45 degrees centigrade. In the west temperatures rise up to 48 degrees, particularly in May and June. Mount Abu registers the lowest temperature

Monsoon:

Characteristics:
Temperature drops and humidity rises. About 90 percent of Rainfall occurs during this time.

Post Monsoon

October to December

Characteristics:
best season to visit Rajasthan, pleasant atmosphere, with temperature between 33 degrees to 38 degrees max.
