Rajasthan became a force to reckon with in the Medieval India. The Prominence of the Rajputs in the 9th and 10th Centuries treated war as a sport and myths and legends of their valor and love towards their land and pure gallantry sacrifices are a legion in the history. Many heroes rose to the occasion whenever Rajputana (formally known meaning country of Rajputs) was invaded. The famous Prithvi Raj Chauhan who fought successfully against the dreaded Muhammad Ghori. His son, Ambar Singh kept the Mughal away from this desert state. The Great Rana Partap Singh is known for his exuberant Bravery and his gallantry through the wars of Haldighati are still talked about in the folklore. The Mughal had to finally make peace with these Rajputana Heroes. Akbar soon made peace with the Rajputana heroes who became a major reason why Akbar was able to expand his empire against formidable enemies. The Loyalty and steadfast nature of Rajasthan can still be felt today.
