The climate of Himachal Pradesh does not have any symmetry regarding temperature. Some areas in the state are semi tropical while some are semi arctic. This depends on the altitude of that place from the sea level. During summers, the upper regions of the state witness pleasant and comfortable temperature but the lower parts of hills are very hot and humid. Winters starts in the month of October and stays till February. During this period, Himachal Pradesh experiences heavy snowfall in upper regions and mild snowfall in the lower regions. Monsoon period begins in the month of July and it continuous till September.
