Mathura, a little town on the River Yamuna is synonymous with Lord Krishna who is believed have been born here.

Alive with devotion to Lord Krishna - the evergreen hero of Hinduism, the lover of Radha and re-incarnation of Lord Vishnu - it has a peaceful and refreshing air about it.

It is affiliated to the Indian School Certificate Education Board (ICSE and ISC) based in New Delhi. More than seventeen hundred full-time students attend the school.

Buddhism flourished in Mathura till about 9th century AD. Mahakachhayana, one of the important disciples of Buddha, preached Buddhism in Mathura.

Upagupta, the teacher of Emperor Ashoka who converted the king to Buddhism, was born in Mathura.

He constructed a big Buddhist Monastery, which remained intact till the 7th century AD.
