Climate of amritsar and Amritsar is one of the major cities of the state of Punjab. This city also houses the famous Golden Temple thus having its share of visitors to the city. Climate of Amritsar is warm in weather with temperatures rising up to 43 'C in summer and in winter the temperatures go down up to anywhere between 4 'C to 10 'C. The best season to visit the city is during the months of October till April.
Climate of amritsar and the name of the city is the combination of two words 'Amrit' the Holy Nectar and 'Sarovar' which means lake. The lake of holy nectar is situated in the Golden Temple, the holiest of holy Sikh shrine. The Sikh prayer exhorts every Sikh to have a dip in the holy pond. The city was also known as Ramdaspur in earlier times. The city is a border city of India and just 30 miles away from Lahore, Pakistan. The city assumes a major strategic importance for India.

  • Harimandir Sahib: Also known as the Golden Temple, is the most significant shrine in Sikhism. It is considered holy because Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the 11th Guru of Sikhs, is believed to be present inside the shrine.
  • Akal Takht: It is located in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar and is the seat of supreme religious clergy of the Sikhs. It was built by Guru Har Gobind, 6th Guru of Sikhs, as a symbol of political sovereignty of Sikhs.

This Mandir has the temples of Maha Kali, Shri Ram, Maa Durga, Shri Radha Krishan, Sindoori Hanuman, Maa Sarawati, Lakhsmi Narayan , Shiv Parivar. Mandir also has a Great Statue of God Hanuman on the top of Mandir.
