Around Mussoorie, there are several places, which tourists will surely like to visit to make their holidays more adventurous and fruitful. Naga Tibba is the highest peak nearby Mussoorie and this is 10000 m above the sea level. Naga Tibba is an idle place for trekking.

Another important place around Mussoorie is the Lakha Mandal and this place has beautiful carved figure, which relate it with the Mahabharata. Dhanolti is known for its dense forests and mountain ranges.

It is 25 km from Mussoorie and lies on Tehri Road. Surkhanda Devi Temple is situated at a distance of 35 km down Mussoorie, and is an important place to visit for those who like to see the sacred places.

Tourist Attractions in Uttaranchal:

Gun Hill
One of the major tourist attractions of Mussoorie, Gun Hill proudly stands as the second highest peak in the town and is largely visited on tours to Mussoorie.

The hill is easily accessible by ropeway or you can even choose to walk up the hill that might take about half an hour or so.

However, the walk is worth the experience as you can enjoy some spectacular vistas of the entire Mussoorie valley from the top of the peak.

The snow-clad Himalayan ranges, the serene River Gangotri and the landscaped Doon valley can be seen from here.

Lal Tibba
Yet another of the famous places to visit in Mussoorie, Lal Tibba is the highest point in the town. It is situated in Landour
and can be approached through an exciting horse ride up the hill.

From the top of the peak, enjoy spectacular vistas of hills enveloped in snow and the lush green valley below.

Camel’s Back Point
A perfect site for relaxation or picnics, the place is interestingly named so due to the presence of a gigantic rock here that gives the impression of a camel’s back! The road to Camel’s Back Point spans over 3 km starting from Rink in Kurli Bazaar to Library Bazaar. You can enjoy a ride on the horseback here or watch the breathtaking sunset in the evenings.

Municipal Garden
It is a popular picnic spot for visitors and among the several Mussoorie tourist attractions. The place is accessible through a short 2 km walk through Waverly Convent Road in Mussoorie. There is a large landscaped garden that invites you to unwind in the lap of nature along with a serene lake where you can enjoy boating.

Excursions from Mussoorie

Kempty Falls (15 km)
It is truly one of the most famous excursions from Mussoorie that you simply can’t afford to miss. This spectacular waterfall boasts of being the biggest in town and gushes down from an altitude of nearly 4500 ft.

Do make it a point to visit the site to enjoy its beautiful surroundings or to take a cool plunge in the Fall.

Jharipani Falls and Bhatta Falls (8 km)
They are also quite famous waterfalls near Mussoorie and popular excursion points from the hill station. They serve as ideal picnic sites and also house ponds where you can bathe and have loads of fun during your excursion tours to Mussoorie.

Mussoorie Lake (6 km)
Yet another picnic spot located on Mussoorie-Dehradun road. It is a perfect place to stop en route to Mussoorie from Dehradun where you can relax for a while, enjoy pedal boating at the lake, shop and eat.

Other popular places to visit near Mussoorie, though a bit far off, but worth a visit are Naga Tibba (55 km), Dhanaulti (25 km) and Surkhanda Devi (35 km).
